I’m wondering because my friend has always had a fear of water even when she was little.

Aquaphobia.

Here’s a wikipedia entry.

Hydrophobia was my guess.

Hydrophobia is actually a water allergy or aversion to drinking, or a chemical reaction to the skin caused by water.

@Seek_Kolinahr Just looked it up. You’re right.

Hydrophobia was also an older name for Rabies, so rather different >.>.

One of the symptoms of rabies is avoiding drinking water. QED.

Indeed. And now I need to go look up of anyone knows the reason for that, because that kind of specific neurological change is very interesting, and usually limited to more complex parasites.

So interesting. I don’t like drinking water and I’m afraid of what’s under the water in lakes, rivers and oceans. And I’m afraid of dying by drowning. But I’m an Aquarian so I’ve always thought it was weird.

@KNOWITALL That ma’am is an oxymoron.

Bugger, it’s in general, quick man, think…...aquaphobia, yeah that’s it.
