Is it safe to mix borax with peroxide bleach?

I have some towels that got left in the washer overnight; two wash cycles later they still smell nasty. (I don’t want to use chlorine bleach as they are dark green.) I’ve been trying to find out online, but all I seem to find are websites about using various things as household cleaners, with no info about mixing these two particular things. Right now the towels are soaking in hot water with detergent, water softener, and borax… I don’t know if it’s ok to put the peroxide bleach in there as well.
