Iphone generation difference?

Asked by jenlk1207 (440points) June 10th, 2008

So what is the big differences between the iPhone G1 and the new G3? Are there any big differences that people who own an iPhone now won’t be able to get with the update?

Ow. My eyes. The mistakes. They burn!

The original iPhone (just called iPhone) was on the old 2.5 Generation cellular network. The new iPhone 3G (called iPhone 3G) works on the newer 3rd Generation cellular networks. So it’s able to download data faster.

The new iPhone 3G also has built-in GPS, better sound quality, yadda yadda yadda.

Both the old iPhone and the new iPhone 3G will benefit from the new iPhone 2.0 operating system, set to be released around July 11. That will also enable 3rd parties to write and release applications that you can download to run on your iPhone (or iPhone 3G).

hahahaha, here

it has 3G data which is more than twice as fast as EDGE, it has GPS, it has a black back casing, silver side buttons. most of the software will be the same but the internet related stuff will be faster, and things like geotagging and location based programs will be possible only on the 3G one because it has GPS built in

Don’t worry, a friend of mine just made the same mistake – you’re not the only one ;-)
