On the TV show, The Little House on the Prairie. What happen to the third daughter Carrie?

It seemed that she just disappeared from the show. I don’t remember any explanation of her leaving. Does anyone know?

I loved the books. No idea about the TV shows, really. You realise those were real people and the books were autobiographies of their life first in Wisconsin and then in Kansas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_Ingalls

According to Wikipedia, Carrie last appeared in 1982. Her absence, in the next season, was explained that the family (except Laura), located to Burr Oak, Iowa to build much improvement of their lives.
