How can I convince my professor to give me a one day extension on a paper due tomorrow?

I have a paper due tomorrow which I probably won’t be able to finish in time. My finals just ended yesterday, and this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to work on it, which means I probably should have applied for an extension about 2 weeks ago.

If anyone could get an extension this late, it probably would be me (I prepare for/go to class, contribute, did well on my last paper, etc.), and nowhere in the syllabus does she refer to paper extensions not being allowed, or having to apply for them early.

I suppose I could do an all-nighter, but I have to get up early (and I’ve done two this week so far), so if anyone could help me with this I’d be really really grateful (and I’ll probably write a much better paper after a good night’s sleep).
