Do you enjoy messin' with your kids, whether they're grown or little?

I stopped by my daughter’s, Corrie, to bring special ice cream to her nine-year old daughter, Brande, who has strep. I was teasing Brande, telling her I’d brought her onions because she knows that her mom does not like onions! Brande got the joke! :)
At one point Aden, her seven year old son, who was playing a video game, yelled “I hate you green perky dork!!” or whatever, at the video game.
Corrie says, “Aden, we don’t use that word.” (I didn’t let my kids use that word either.)
Very casually I said, “Corrie, you don’t like onions, do you.”
She said, “No. You know I don’t.”
I said, “Corrie…tell me, in a couple of words, how you feel about onions.”
She just looks at me, biting her lip, starting to say something, then stopping, shaking her head, going “Mom!”
I just laughed my way out de door!
Of course, it comes back to me. Right after I got out of the hospital, and was suffering from a bit of memory loss, they all ganged up on me, trying to tell me I’d been in the hospital for 9 years. The sheets!

Oh yeah – I have the best time messin’ with my kids. I can still gross my thirty year old out!

I have messed with my kids pretty much from day one. The older two get it, but for some reason the littlest gets himself all worked into a tizzy almost every single time. It makes me nuts! Usually his brothers have to remind him that I am joking around.

Yep! Its the family business. I mess with my kids (young adults now), and my cousins kids (also young adults). My daughter has really inherited the skill so, sometimes I have to focus her attention on another mark, like her father. He really doesn’t have the skill! LOL
I tell her its evil to use her skill on her instructor. Her brother is usually the next mark. Only thing with him is that you never know when he will get the joke.

I enjoy giving my kids (30 & 24) a hard time. And, now I have grandchildren too tease too! Double Bonus! (Although I will admit that my 6 year old granddaughter has already said “Grandpa, Really?” They are too wise for their years).
