How do I remove a recent activity from Facebook?

Asked by marinelife (62485points) March 11th, 2013

Facebook, as you probably know, has been really sneaky lately. If you just mouse over something, it can say you like it or have engaged in a recent activity.

Mine now says I engaged in Social Fixer (which I did not). Every time I click on Edit or Delete, nothing happens.

I was wondering how to get rid of all the dr oz approved obesity and diet ads. I have only been doing Facebook on my mobile devices but man, they are starting to give me a complex!

Are you not able to go to your timeline and scroll down to where that activity is and then hover over it and there should be an option to “Hide on Timeline”.

@bhec10 But I don’t want to Hide it, I want to delete it. I never did it.

@marinelife I see what you mean, but I’m not sure why you aren’t able to delete it, that’s weird..
I’d suggest you go to the Account Settings > App Settings > then click on the X to permanently remove that application.

This might not remove that recent activity from your Timeline but I assume it will prevent any new activity from coming up.

My advice is don’t use Facebook. Helpful, right?

Go to your timeline, scroll down to the activity that you want to be hidden/removed, place your cursor around the right corner of the post and you will get to see options like hide/remove post. You can select the option that you want. And it is done.Simple..
