Does anyone know the exact expected release date for the next iPhone software update?

No. Nobody does. Really. Not being a jerk here.

The expectation is that it will be on or before July 11th, though… as that’s the official release date of iPhone 3G.

“AppleInsider suggests the iTunes App store will launch on July 11th alongside the iPhone 3G. This date has also been reported by AppleGazette.”

following @Fallstand’s links to their ultimate source, Engadget reports that:

…the next firmware update (2.0) could be headed to devices as early as June 27th, at least according to Apple’s Australian iPod touch features page

Although, to be clear, I don’t see it.

@toolaura4ya, I’m super excited for the update too, especially since I decided not to upgrade to one if the new phones.

It only makes sense that it would be released with the new iPhone on July 11th.

there was a post on macrumors that was removed. the australian apple web site said “the app store, coming to you june 27th” but then apple removed it. if i can find the screenshot someone took ill post the link
