Does Spring remind you of any special moments?

Asked by Sunny2 (18842points) March 14th, 2013

In Spring a young man’s fancy and all that. Does it bring up anything special for you? My wedding was late in march. We honey mooned in New York City and it happened to be warm enough to have the top down in our convertible. I’ll always remember driving down the Avenue of the Americas dribbling out rice that had collected in the car. We were so happy and got many a grin from drivers next to us. A lovely day.

St. Paddy’s Day, which was my Mom’s birthday.

My birthday is a Spring birthday. I remember Sundays in Spring. I always had to walk to get the paper and I remember having to pass all these trees with their beautiful pink blossoms. It was a beautiful reminder that winter was gone.

My grandmother lived with us in her final months. She was bedbound and I would collect the blossoms for her and put them in saucers and sit with her. That’s not such a happy thought…

I love to see the new plants and flowers come out. I have many happy memories of spring.

It doesn’t really remind me of anything special. I am just reminded to buy a truck ton of allergy medicine.

@Mama_Cakes, it was my Mom’s birthday too. Well, it was the day she always said was her birthday. She didn’t know her real birthday and just said St. Patrick’s Day. My oldest brother was born on March 16 and one of my sisters was born on the 18th. They had her surrounded.

It reminds me of 2 things mostly. Easter Sunday and bonnets and pretty dresses and singing in church Jesus Christ is Risen Today!!! alleluia!!!! at the top of my lungs. I think I liked the pretty dresses even more than the candy…born to design, apparently.
The second thing is college campus on the first bright sunny day and guys out on the lawn playing frisbee with no shirts on, music streaming out the open windows of the dorm. Marshall Tucker Band singing “Can’t you see? Can’t you see? What that woman, she been doin’ to me!!”

Mt Hobson, on which we lived on the foothills, covered in daffodils on its lower slopes.

Spring doesn’t really remind me of anything, but it sure does make me happy. Just seeing a bit of that bright green new growth on trees makes me giddy! I cannot wait for it to get here. :)

It’s 7:15 a.m. here and I’m listening to the birds twittering away. Those sounds, and the tiny purple buds appearing on my trees, are giving me much pleasure.

I forgot about cherry blossoms!! I used to love the sight of them on the sidewalk after a rain mixed in with that gorgeous lime green color foliage. I think the leaves were from a different tree and they just mixed together on the sidewalk like the most beautiful nature collage possible! The sad part is that I knew once that happened, the rain was going to make all the flowers fall from the trees and soon they would be gone for another year.

There’s a nip in the air in South Western, Ontario (Canada), yet the birds are chirping like crazy. Soon!!!!

The first thing that popped into my mind was picking stones. Anyone whose done that will know what I mean. Then lilacs came next. I love stopping to smell them in the Spring.

Hmm…nothing huge. Maybe my birthday in April. However, these days, there is almost always snow on my spring birthday. I remember, as a kid, the grass was always bright lush green…now it’s either brown or covered in snow. I live in the same region as I always have – climate change is very evident here.

Spring is bitter sweet for me. I love the new/reborn life emerging in nature… but it also gives me horrible allergies. It figures… a nature lover who’s allergic to nature.
