Is a small patch of grey hair on the side of the head some kind of gay code?

Asked by poisonedantidote (21675points) March 24th, 2013

Hi, just a little question regarding an observation I have made.

Three friends of mine from different towns have a small patch of grey hair on the side of their head, and all three of them are open about being gay.

I know that a small patch of grey hair can happen naturally, but I was wondering if this is some kind of visual tag or code for being gay.

Any ideas?

It’s not any code I know of.

Never heard of such a code.

Nonsense. Teal’c has a patch of grey hair on his head, and he is definitely not gay for anyone but Jack.

I know two guys who have it and they are straight. But they are both wrestlers.

Pat Rafter, Aussie tennis player & Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, English cricketer, both now retired, had this. Flintoff’s is a dark spot with him being fair headed, must be something to do with pigmentation rather than sexuality.

Uh, no.

The only gay code I am aware of is “Be Fabulous!”

Only if they’re riding a unicorn and eating skittles at the same time.

@filmfann So you’re not a friend of Dorothy?

I sure hope not. I’ve been greying since my mid-twenties, and while I have nothing against gay guys at all – and I mean that sincerely “I have nothing at all against them” – I don’t swing that way, and it’s hard enough for an older hetero guy to get a date (with a woman) as it is.

I think liking dicks is a more common gay code.

Then I might be turning gay…

Hmmm… How to break that to the wife?

The only way for someone to find out if you are gay is if you accidentally drop your gay card.

Is there actually a hair dye in grey? I have so far only seen products taking the grey away. Or at least claiming to do so.

Oh, that was delightful, @bookish1!

@CWOTUS & @filmfann : Thanks, he’s one of my go-tos. The whole clip is great; I couldn’t have explained the difference between sexual preference and gender expression better myself.
