Is there a definitive way I can tell my internal hard drive is shot?

This is on a MacBook Pro early 2011

Last week the computer started resetting automatically. (Symptoms of a dying hard drive)

@josie Turns out the RAM was shot. I guess a 55$ replacement is better than a whole new set up, luckily.
