06 Honda Accord V6 Power Steering Hose Replacement?

Asked by lfrlstl (4points) April 4th, 2013

Recently I got a recall from Honda to replace the Power Steering Hose on my 06 Accord V6 Sedan. My car has clocked 86k miles so far. I know that I have to replace my timing belt at 90k miles.

So my question is, can I use this opportunity to replace the power steering hose to replace the timing belt as well? I am trying to avoid the labor cost that I incur to just replace the timing belt.

I just want to know and be aware if these two things can be clubbed together to save time & money or if these two are totally un-related.

Recall repairs are generally free of charge; the manufacturer eats the cost.

You will pay for the timing belt labor anyways. “Unrelated” is an understatement.

Welcome to Fluther.

The two repairs are unrelated enough that there won’t be any “crossover” work, where some of the recall disassembly and reassembly would be included in the timing belt replacement.
