What does "Reproductive Rights" actually mean?

Asked by josie (30934points) April 5th, 2013

If it means you can have intercourse and get pregnant (or not) as your whim dictates, then I am all for that. I hope that would be obvious. I like girls, I like sex etc. etc. etc.

But if it means, you can do those things and expect taxpayers to pick up the tab, then I strongly object and I will never withdraw my objection.

I exercise restraint even my Id tries to dissuade me. Others should do the same, or face the consequence.

So which is it?

In what cases do American taxpayers pay the tab now?

If the taxpayers are picking up the tab, then I assume it is a woman who is on medicaid or whatever the government paid medical care for those on welfare is called. And my feelings are, despite the fact that I agree with the rest of what you said, is that I think it is better for all involved to pay for the abortion (or birth control) now than to bring an unwanted child into the world. One who very possibly, since it is not wanted, will be neglected and end up on welfare also.
