How do I get Youtube to stop asking me for my full name?

Asked by ragingloli (51954points) April 21st, 2013

Every once in a while I get a popup on youtube asking to me to give them my full name to replace my current screen name, and it frankly is starting to get on my tits.
How do I permanently make them stop asking me for this?

I always answer “No” but they still keep asking. I don’t think you can stop those baddies from doing what they want to do with their program.

Google is trying to tie Gmail with YouTube and Google+. Maybe try making a new Google+ account with the name of “ragingloli” or whatever, and use that as your new YouTube account?

This pisses me off too

I haven’t seen that happen, but my Google name on all their services is Kat Hearkat anyway, so perhaps I’ve convinced them the name is “real”.

If you are using a one-word user ID make that one of your names as I did… such as “Loli Ragingloli”.

Just give them your real name: “Brutus Von Winklebottom”

You could try typing in your current screen name in one of the boxes. I don’t get why they would require a full name for something as public as youtube anyway.

They don’t make you change – they just keep asking if you want to . It is annoying though.
