the Greek god fathersese was the father of a lot of Olympian gods. And the greeks believed that if you praise fathersese when your having trouble concieving then you will reproduce. Eventually Rome adopted the tradition with the conquest of Greece.

Ok I made all that up. My guess is Hallmark

mwa, not sure, i mean, it gives me a chance to show my appreciation by buying my family and friends gifts….ugh, that sounds wrong

It started in Spokane, Washington, when a woman’s father had died or something, and she wanted to do like a big parade in order to celebrate him. Eventually it caught on. There is debate though between the democrates and republicans on which president made it an official holiday.
