Why is our name given on the privacy star website!

Asked by pleiades (6617points) May 19th, 2013 from iPhone

I just searched my phone number and this website called privacy star pretty much reveals my name. Is this normal? I have virgin mobile owned by sprint. I typed in another person I know and their carrier is AT&T.

Is this alarming or what

Just checked and it does the same for mine, too. Well, it shows my dad’s name since I’m on his plan, but same idea. And I have Verizon. It’s a little alarming but I’m not too worried about it, since the only reason someone would have to look up my phone number is if I called them to begin with.

Doesn’t show my name, but my girlfriend’s name is on her phone number. Sh’e gonna be pissed.

I tried my unlisted land line, and it had my name. At least the location they displayed was 10 miles from my house.

But they had no name for my cell phone with Consumer Cellular.

I had a similar problem with another website. I suggest you contact them and ask to have your information removed from the site.

Worked for my number also. I’m not very upset about it. The location was the location of the phone number; not where I am currently. It doesn’t look like you can look up someone’s name and find their number? Sometimes I wish I could find cell phone numbers for people I have lost touch with. I guess that is what facebook is for. I understand people still pay excessive minutes on their phones and having calls come in costs money.

It doesn’t show mine or my husband’s names thank goodness.

@marinelife who’s your phone service carrier if you don’t mind me asking?

@pleiades Mine is Virgin Mobile. I don’t know whose my husband has, because he gets his phone through work.
