What kind of glue will bond a plastic resin to metal? (Details)

Asked by DarlingRhadamanthus (11273points) June 18th, 2013

I have a charm on my favorite belt. It has a heart shaped resin charm affixed to a metal base. The heart shaped resin part is flat backed and fits onto a similar flat metal piece that holds it in place.

Any idea what kind of glue is best for bonding this?

Thank you.

Either a gel-type cyanoacrylate glue (like this), or a 5-minute epoxy (like this) would do it.

Neither of these requires air to dry, which is crucial when you’re bonding impermeable materials. They’re both easily available in big-box hardware stores.

E6000 but read the warning and follow them. It is made for costume jewelry, metal to beads and metal to metal.

Apologies for the horribly worded question!!! I wrote it quickly and just realized that I never mentioned that the resin part had come off the metal!

Thank you @Tropical_Willie and @thorninmud for reading my mind and answering…lol

Lurve on its way.
