Is there a service that allows webinar and video combined?

Asked by metadog (378points) June 20th, 2013

Hi! My company does updates on health care to our clients. We have been using GoToWebinar to do these live events where we have a speaker and we are showing a PowerPoint presentation. Now they would like to pre-record the PowerPoint part and play it as a movie, then have a live question and answer session. GoToWebinar doesn’t seem to be able to handle the video part. Is there another solution? We haven’t had luck with WebEx either. Thoughts?

We have had the same issue – to my knowledge there is nothing out there that does it well. The problem is that to stream video, you want to use a good streaming package, and to do the Q&A, you want a good interactive package, and nothing puts those together.

We once tried streaming on the presenters console and letting everyone watch on GTM. The video of GTM couldn’t keep up with the streaming, so quality was lousy.

Good luck, but I doubt you will find anything.

Teamviewer has options similar to this, it has a presentation mode.

I guess my other requirement, that I neglected to mention… I may need as many as 250 people to be able to see the presentation…

Hmm, not sure what the limit is on the professional version of teamviewer is.

I use Camtasia for that purpose all the time. You can record the PPT on your desktop and convert it to a variety of video formats.

But Camtasia doesn’t allow for the streaming of the video along with the live portion, right? It is more of a live screen capture app, or so I thought.
