Where are the Skype IM's stored on the hard drive of a lap top computer, specifically a Mac Book Pro and how would I delete them?

I was curious when I send or receive a Skype IM where it remains on my computer after it’s sent. If I send something a little sensitive or confidential where can I find it on my computer afterword to get rid of it? Any suggestions welcome.
