Will you share your quotes that strengthen your will power?

I am interested. Everyone has so many different influences it would be wonderful to get some of them together on a subject.

If it is to be,
it is up to me.

10 letters formed into 10 two-letter words…
so simple yet profound.

Every morning when I wake up I ask myself what I can do to make this day a great day.

Unbroken's avatar

@hearkat That is clever. And true. Where did you get it from?

@YARNLADY Lol morning people always amaze me. I just don’t understand. First thought when I wake up is I am so tired. My bed feels good, can I get away with going back to sleep… A thing like willpower is something I shouldn’t have to test right off the bat…

If you don’t do it, no one will. Do I care enough to DO it? and if the answer is YES, I DO it.

From Shakespeare quotes:
Polonius:
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Take care of yourself first, and that way you’ll be in a position to take care of others.

@Unbroken I am a homemaker, so I get to set my own time schedule. I usually sleep until noon or later, and I only wake up when I’ve had enough sleep.

If I am not for myself, who will be?
And if I am only for myself, what am I?
And if not now, when?

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield!

This one, I Know by Bob Marley got me through countless ‘battles.’

Many a time I sit and wonder why
This race so – so very hard to run,
Then I say to my soul: take courage,
Battle to be won—
Like a ship that’s tossed and driven,
Battered by the angry sea, yea-eah!
Say the tide of time was raging;
Don’t let the fury fall on me, no, no!

@Unbroken – I came across it many years ago, but never found out whose quote it is. I did try searching the web and never found an answer, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried to find the source.
