First name or last name?

I’d go with Murray; Iremonger sounds a bit World-of-Warcraft-ish.

Second name, and wow-ish Ill have to remember that one.

Definitely Murray, as in Andy Murray new Wimbledon champion…whoo-hoo!!

I’ll add in that Lascells is also an option, but I’m not sure I like that one so much…

Murray is easier to spell and say.

Is that a good thing?

“Iremonger” sounds like somone who makes anger. It’s kind of cool in that it’s unusual but you would always have to be spelling it and pronouncing it which would be a pain.

As a person whose first and last name are frequently misspelled, I say yes, easy spelling is an asset. I don’t find your name here , No, what’s your first name? How do you spell that?

I always preferred funky names over common names. I’d go with Iremonger. It has a cool feel as it rolls off the tongue.

I’d definitely pick Murray. Iremonger makes me think of a fish monger. And if you’re a straight single male, I think Murray should definitely be it. I can’t imagine being Lyndsey Iremonger.

Iremonger is awesome. :)

I like Iremonger, because it’s more unusual, but also is spelled the way it sounds, so not difficult. Murray is a great name, though, and you’d have many great namesakes, including the man responsible for producing the OED. Check out that beard!

Iremonger. Like a professional or expert in ire? Was that given at an immigration point?

Murray certainly will be easier for people to spell. Both my last names are difficult, and I don’t mind it actually. In fact, in America I bet a lot of people, especially young people, would spell Murray wrong. Unless they play tennis, just to give a nod to Andy Murray.

Does one sounds better than the other with your first name? I comes before M, so when you are waiting for your name to be called you don’t have to wait as long. I went from C to M and it is noticably different. Do you have three initials? Do the inititals spell a word? My mom always thought about that when naming us. do you identify with one side of the family more than the other, where the name would suit you better?

Is one a maiden name and one married? Or, you have two last names your mom and dad?

My vote is Murray.

Murray definitely is a more positive sounding name than Iremonger. Ire means intense and usually openly displayed anger. Monger means 1: Broker, dealer. 2: A person who attempts to stir up or spread something that is usually petty or discreditable —usually used in combination <warmonger>. If I were an Iremonger, I wouldn’t tell anyone.

I have often seen people put Iremonger before Murray in initials and with a name of Daniel… It comes out as DIM.. That’s not great to have I must say..

Iremonger! sounds strong and individual. Murray = meh.

I’d go with Iremonger for sure for the same reasons @trailsillustrated said. I have a weird last name that people often mispronounce or misspell but I love it, it makes me feel more individual.
