If you are a gay couple and won a trip or cruise but it was clear the setup was for male/female couples would you still go?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) July 17th, 2013

You won a trip or cruise for two, you are excited and you go to claim it, but you discover that the pre-cruise, trip gifts were designed for male and female, and when you check you find that the activities, etc on the cruise or trip was designed for men and women couples, would you still go if there was no way to cash out or give it away? Would you try to find another couple opposite your make up and try to fool the officiators into thinking you were two male/female couples until you get on board or at the hotel?

BFYGS, no, you did not know about the cruise or trip ahead of time, you were selected at random.

I would. A male/male or female/female couple is every bit as legit as a male/female couple.

Heck yeah! Why let some cruise company’s idea of what a couple looks like spoil my good time?

If you are strong in your convictions, why would you give a shit.

If you are uncertain of your convictions, you will feel uncomfortable.

Absolutely. Why shouldn’t I? If someone has a problem with my partner and I, it’s their problem not mine.

Outside of a contest to insert a penis into a vagina I’m not sure what sort of activities couldn’t be done by anyone of any gender.

I wouldn’t go regardless of how it was set up. The last time I went on a cruise, I fell off a dive boat and ended up with a black and blue mark from my waist to my toes.

I spent 12 years in the Navy, 13+ months in a combat zone and 6 years on various ships and was never injured like I was on that one week trip.

Why did you win a cruise? hehe

Sure. How is everything “designed for male and female” any different than the entire rest of the world?

Mama_Cakes's avatar

Yep. I think that I’d rather do that actually. Most of the people who we hang out with are straight couples. I’m not into going to any Olivia Cruises. It’s not my thing. I really didn’t get anything out of going to lesbian campgrounds either, back in my early 20’s.

Uh, abso-fucking-lutely. That would be all the more reason for me to go. Me and my girl would show those breeders how it’s done, says a breeder. :)

And, what @syz said. Isn’t everything “designed” for straight couples? It’s sort of the default. So, I’d consider it my job to help change that.

@Mama_Cakes My sister went to Dinah Shore a few years ago and I was so jealous. So, it’s nothing but lesbians, but it looked like a blast!

What does a gay suite actually look like?

Kardamom's avatar

I would be interested in trying gay food.

DominicX's avatar

@Kardamom According to American Dad!, an example of “gay food” is “wasabi tuna in radicchio sauce” :P

^^ Hee Hee.

What if two female or male friends won a cruise that was a setup for straight couples, or a mother and a daughter?

woodcutter's avatar

Then the suites will be more fucked up when they move out at the end. Probably be a mess the whole trip.^^

Oh, let’s tickle the old brain cells a little.
• A wife carrying race, those with obstacles that have to be maneuvered.
• A husband dunking contest where the wives throwing baseballs at a dunking machine tries to sink her husband.
• Husband and wife pie eating relay. The wives start and when done with her pie, steps aside and the husbands go, this pattern repeats until time is up or the pies are gone.
• Baby rickshaw race where the man pulls the woman in a small rickshaw type vehicle.
• Men vs. women ping pong tournament.
• Men vs. women batting tournament (homeruns notwithstanding, just hits).
• Men fishing junkets while the women are on a shopping outing.
• Strongman puck hammering contest where you hit the flipper to see if you can hit the bell with the puck, where you take the combine score of the man and the woman.
Just a few event that would be thrown off if not set up male/female, even if they are called husband and wives or male vs. female.

The hidden details:
Only one would get the ticket, but a ticket to bring a partner. The details of the trip with the ticket clearly states the events are set up for men and women, that it is a couple’s trip/cruise. You have to be over 21. No adult children, to register for the trip you have to register with a person of the opposite sex as you, no stag, going lone wolf, etc.
