Do you believe he is racist or is he misunderstood? What are your reasons for thinking so? Curious to see what people think and to see if we can have an intelligent discussion (because youtube comments are never the place for that).

Forgot to add, this is the article Vice supplied to supplement the video:

One of the many paragraphs that stand out to me is this:

When I asked Matthew how he felt about Obama’s presidency, he said, “I’m not a fan, but not because he’s African American.” He explained how, for him, Obama’s two presidential victories underscored the waning power of white male voters in America. Pointing to US Census Bureau predictions that by 2040 whites will no longer be a majority (though they’ll still be the largest ethnic category), he said that, because of changing demographics across the country, Mitt Romney’s defeat in the 2012 presidential election showed that “we’ve already lost the ability to elect a president. Mitt Romney got 60 percent of the white vote. Ten years ago, if you got 60 percent of the white vote, you would win the presidency. Now it’s not enough. So the change in demographics spells to us the fact that we’ve lost the ability on a national level to even advocate for ourselves.” It was clear that his usage of “we” and “our” did not include non-Caucasian Americans.

He seems to be contradicting himself. Trying to say he’s not racist but then says somewhat racial remarks. He’s a conundrum to me

So funny that he says he is not racist. Must be one of those attention garnerning stunts.

A racist in considerable denial.

the thing that astounds me is the alarming number of people that think he is doing nothing wrong and only wants equality

I went by your quote above by the way, that was adequate. But according to most of the commentors he is a definite racst.

Around 19 minutes they clearly express how racist they are. And the part where he cherry picks the Bible and said it’s ok to use force.

Typical Jim Crow sympathizer.

As a half white half asian male, this kind of thinking disgusts me, because he puts me in a separate corner. And there should be no “designated” black, white, yellow, brown place to begin with.

What everyone else said. Disgusting.
