Where can I obtain a list of the top 50 people with the most lurve?

No public API yet. You will have to screen scrape to get this info. Please see this.

Why are so many people so invested in this?

They all want to “have their name in lights” (or should I say numbers)! We want to know who rules the collective.

@gail- anytime people are handing something out, people want the most. I can remember when I first came here. I was very impressed when someone with lots of lurve answered my questions.

Nothing in the grand scheme of things. If you’ll notice though, anytime questions are asked about favorite flutherites, its always the regulars who have a very high amount of lurve. To me, that says that people take more notice to users who have more lurve. Although I look at all answers to questions I pay more attention to the “regular’s” answers. Maybe thats just me, but I mean, who doesnt want to be someones favorite?

I was amazed, looking at PnL’s jpg, that Wildflower, Shilolo, Marina, and Allie, have all made Top 30 while they’ve only been on Fluther for less than 3 months! Wow – that’s a lot of lurve for great Fluthering!

Claque, in the primary meaning was a group paid to applaud or cheer, usually at the opera or theater for a performer who was losing his/her edge.

Sycophants volunteer to be hrrm toadies or suck-ups. Usually guys like Charles II, Henry VIII or Louis XIV was surrounded by sycophants.
