Where did the name for the tootsie roll originally derive?

i did a search and i found this site. it says that the guy who invented them was a immigrant and when he was making his first candy he was thinking about his daughter and her nickname was “tootsie”. heres the link if you want to read it. its far down the page so just run a search for tootsie on the page
