Tetris 3DS tips?

I play standard Tetris game on the 3DS. I normally play against players around the world, but they seem to kick my arse using tricks I don’t know how to make.

Any ideas?

Try to make as many four-liners as possible.
You can hold pieces that don’t fit and use them later.
