How can I make pages like this in Tumblr?

Asked by ScottyMcGeester (1897points) September 26th, 2013

The tumblr design changes as often as you change undergarments (hopefully), and so some information I find doesn’t pertain to the current design anymore.

But I recently made a new blog aside from the one I’ve had forever, and I just noticed all the changes they made, so I’m a bit at a loss on how to do what I want to do.

I’ve never done this before either, but this new blog I have is dedicated to stories I write. I want to make it easier for my readers to navigate through different stories. What I want is like a “Table of Contents” page or something. I want a spot on the side or something where you can click on a title of a story and then it will bring you to another page where all the posts are from that story and in order.

I don’t know much about Tumblr but from what I understand it’s not as fully functioning as other kinds of blogs, and it doesn’t allow “pages” like Wordpress does. If Tumblr allows you to put a list of links on your page, you could make a text entry with your list of contents and then put a link to that entry in your sidebar.

If Tumblr doesn’t support that feature you may be better off moving your blog to Wordpress or Blogger.

Have you searched all of the blog templates Tumblr makes available? I would imagine there is one that might fit your needs, although the one you like may not be free.
