Would you buy a t-shirt for your kid that had, "Too Cool 4 School" written on it?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46808points) September 29th, 2013

My daughter just took a picture of this shirt at Walmart. I just thought, “What assholes.”
Then I thought (and my daughter asked,) “Who would even buy such a shirt??”

Hahah…hell no! Why not just buy them a tee-shirt that says ” Narcissist in the making.”

No, but that’s because I’m way to school for cool (notice use of words instead of numbers)

I don’t see the problem. The shirt is very obviously not seriously criticizing teachers, school, or the education system in general. It is just a (mildly funny) joke. Any kid becoming arrogant just because of what’s written on his shirt has probably been on that path for a while…

And for the record, I don’t even see anything wrong with openly criticizing schools. There is a lot of room for improvement there.

@drhat77 “too”

Taking shit a little too seriously here, @Dutchess.

Drat the misspelling is unintentional but still funny

Being too cool for school is nothing I would want my kid to be proud of. Why not “I’m happy being ignorant.” Or “I want to be a bum when I grow up?” Or “Don’t confuse me with logic.”

I would have worn that every day until it got faded and fell apart. School is kind of a joke anymore anyway… Kids get liberal propaganda not actual lessons and knowledge. All they have to do is show up and they will pass. May as well have fun in the meantime.

No.

But, if he/she bought it with their own money I wouldn’t forbid them from wearing it, but I would tell them I don’t like it.

No, but I’m sure some people will.

My son has a shirt that says ‘This kid is awesome’. I think that gets the point across much more clearly.
