What is the best women"s antiperspirant for sensitive skin?

Asked by silky1 (1510points) September 29th, 2013

I’ve noticed that I recently began to break out from Lady Speed Stick anti antiperspirant.
I need one that really works and is made for sensitive skin.

Are you sure that you haven’t just infected your current stick? Those things can kind of be breeding grounds for nasty stuff. I used to wipe them off with a paper towel before using them.
Now I make my own anti deodorant with a natural recipe but it is only a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. .

Move to West Virginia. You don’t have to wear deodorant.

Soft and Dry. A dermatologist recommended it to my dad. It’s marketed to women, he just chose a flavor that wasn’t too fem. I would assume most are similar though. I have been using Dove with no problems.

Something to think about. A breakout could be foliculitis (infection in the hair follicle) caused by a dull razor and bacteria. Try a spot of your deodrant on your arm and see if you have any sort of irritation. If it might be foliculitis you can try to cure it on your own by letting the hair grow for 7–14 days, wipe hydogen peroxide on the area morning and night. If the rash goes down, then you cam start shaving again. Use a very good new sharp blade. Dull blades pull the hair and cause little tears in the skin and let bacteria in. If you have good results, just remember to change your razors more often. I like the Venus razors, and I have ne other I use that I knowthe package, I need to go check the name. But, any of the the tripole or quadruple more expensivish razors should work.

@silky1 If nothing helps consider seeing a dermatlogist who can give you a topical drug whether it is an irritation or an infection.

Have you tried a paste of baking soda and water?
