Do you pay FICA and Medicare Taxes if you receive a pension from the State?

My wife’s friend is retiring with a state pension and asked the question.
I think not, but maybe someone knows definitely about this

No, only wages and earnings and business income are subject to FICA and Medicare. The pension will be income, subject to income tax but that’s it.
