Do you often ask a question and expect it to get a lot of answers and/or "great questions"?

On Facebook some people may write statuses in a way that they expect them to get a lot of likes and/or comments. I wonder if the situation here is the same.

I don’t really answer or ask specifically for the lurve. There are definitely patterns to what types of questions are popular, but I don’t think the majority of people here ask something unless they’re actually interested.

I have noticed I spend a lot longer making my answers complete, inclusive, and kind here than I would somewhere like facebook where people know a lot more about me and can derive my intentions a little more easily. Friends give you the benefit of the doubt and will laugh with you, in a room of strangers the same joke offends someone.

Probably not a bad thing overall, but it does kill the little humorous one-liners when people don’t know enough about you to know you’re not just being a dick.

yes fluther, I realize I may not be that funny, but I guess you’ll never know :P

Nah.

Most of the time I ask something i need a real answer to, or use a question as an excuse to share an interesting article I’ve read.

I’ll debate all day long, but I tend to leave the prompting to others.

No. Actually, I often write a question and don’t expect it to get a lot of answers and wind up with many interesting persectives I had never expected. I love that about fluther.

I don’t write many questions, but when I’m moved to do so, I’m looking for input, not lurve. Usually I get enough comments to satisfy me, and when I get a GQ, I’m pleased.

No, I could care less as long as I get an answer or clarification. GA’s and lurve are meaningless to me since my ego/ self-esteem is not reliant on a Q&A site full of strangers- lol

I cry at night because I don’t get enough lurve. I want everyone to lurve my questions and answers. LURVE ME, DAMMIT!

No. I ask questions to help solve the mysteries of life. Lurve is certainly appreciated, however.

I don’t expect a damn thing, once it’s out there whatever happens, happens.

I try to make my answers helpful, informative and interesting. I appreciate when my efforts are acknowledged but I don’t need it to feel worthwhile. I anyone can benefit from what I contribute, that pleases me, even if I never get explicit feedback.

Surely you jest. I don’t expect to see a GQ or GA on anything I post; even when I know if it were ask by anyone other than I it would. I expect to see people lurve off my. I don’t even really expect answers lately; it all seems more commentary or quips than answers. If I had to live off lurve I would be a super duper forced anorexic.
