We just took our kiddos to their first haunted house, and we all had a blast!

Do you other jellies like going to haunted houses?

I think they are a complete waste of time and money, but my youngest grandsons seem to enjoy them. My oldest, adult grandson is a worker in a haunted house every year.

I had once visited a Haunted mansion near our place with my husband a few years back. You walk through scary rooms, statues, skeletons, scary sounds. It was spooky enough to keep us entertained. But now with my daughter I don’t plan to go there as there are parts that would be scary for young children.

Nah. They’re not allowed to actually scare you anymore. Friggin’ idiots with lawyers ruining everyone’s fun.

Love them! I once went to a closed prison in WV for a overnight ghost hunt. Very scary and humbling knowing how the prisoners lived.

I’ve never been much of a fan of either haunted houses or Halloween, yet I always got a big kick out the Halloween episodes of “Roseanne” when the Conner family rigged their house and played tricks on each other in so many creative ways.

@Smitha I guess it all depends on where you go. The one we went to tonight was amazing with the kids. They gave my seven year old this oversized playing card and told her if she got scared to hold it out as a shield, and the monsters would run away.

The workers inside played along, still jumping out and hollering, but not getting in her personal space, and the two times she actually held the card up, they yelled, “Oh no, it’s a card! Aaaaah, not a card!” and made her giggle. They scared her just enough for it to be fun.

With my twelve year old, though, they properly ooga-booga’d her, chased her with a chainsaw, and made her jump a lot. It was a ton of fun!

Years ago, when my children were, well, children, my wife and I would make a haunted porch. The kids would enter it, and end up dropping their candy and running out. It was hysterical.

@WillWorkForChocolate:Thanks a lot for your reply!I too agree it depends on the place..Zombies will jump out at you and scare you. Such things at times even scares adults! May be from what her friends told her my daughter showed no interest in going to such a place and I didn’t want to compel her.

I used to love going to them when I was a kid. A young kid, even. I haven’t been to one in ages, but I still love horror movies, so I’d probably still enjoy a haunted house. Glad you had fun!

Not any of the ones I’ve been to. I’ve even done Blood Manor, which is supposed to be the Haunted House of all Haunted Houses, and been quite bored. Though the decor and costumes were top-notch. I bet I’d enjoy Blackout.

Never been in any haunted houses, save for some at amusement parks. They were totally my favorite rides though. You either sit in a wagon which takes you through it, or walk through them. The paths are linear, and you see plastics spooks that pop up with flashes of light and super loud annoying bell sounds, but it’s fucking awesome. I’d probably have sex every day if it came with stupid alarm sounds when you orgasm.

One I remember a lot is a jungle theme ’‘haunted house’’, where it starts out as a pretty jungle with green leaves painted on walls and friendly looking tigers with bobbing heads… but halfway through it, it gets all dark, the only light source presents decapitated heads on bloody pikes, and a giant animated gorilla serves as the end boss. He doesn’t do anything except sway about. You step between his legs and it ends…but it kicked ass. I remember finding it disturbing because of the normal jungle theme transitioning to some fucking nightmare.

But Halloween themed haunted houses that get put up for the holiday, never saw any. Although once my mom and her boyfriend brought me on the outskirts of Winnipeg to go check out some huge ass monumental statue of some guy on a horse. While riding over there there was an acclaimed haunted house you could visit for like five bucks. I so wanted to go there, and expressed this desire after coming back from seeing the horse statue, then my mom called me ungrateful. Bunghole.

I used to enjoy them. And then I got it in my head that a real nutter could actually get in there and no one would know it. Yeh, I have issues.

I want an orgasm bell…

I love haunted houses! I’ve only been to 1 that truly scared me. I still remember the part at the end- there were 4 doors and only 1 was the exit. If you picked the wrong one, something would jump out at you. OF COURSE, the last door we picked was the exit LOL. It doesn’t sound very scary but it was, especially in the moment.

We took our sons to Spook Hollow every year when they were younger. You need to plan on spending a good two hours if you go to Spook Hollow. Our sons ended up helping by being the monsters in the woods when they were old enough. We now live an hour away from the town it is located in and we are trying to find something as scary as Spook Hollow that’s a little closer to home. I think I finally found something online and I can’t wait to take our daughter next year. We love to get spooked!
