Who do you think was responsible for 9/11?

Asked by Tbag (3549points) November 2nd, 2013

I know this question brings up bad memories but I’m just curious about what most people think. Do you think it was an inside job? If so, what are your reasons? Was it Al-Qaeda? Some people even say it was Israel!

I believe that 9/11 was a devastating day and I think, from my humble opinion, that it was an inside job. What do you think?

People who think it was an inside job just amaze me. I think it was pretty obvious who did it.

The U.S. government deliberately dropped their guard so that they can dip into social security savings because of an emergency excuse to do so.

Valerie111's avatar

I don’t believe in any of those conspiracy theories. I believe Osama Bin Laden was behind the attack.

I blame the calendar.

9/11 an “inside job”? I don’t believe it. I go with this Wikipedia entry that states that mainstream sources insluding the 9/11 Commission Report (which incorporated intelligence information from the earlier FBI investigation (PENTTBOM) and the Joint Inquiry of 2002), studies into building performance carried out by the Federal Emergency Management Agency[18] (FEMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), investigations by non-government organizations that support the accepted account such as those by the National Fire Protection Association, and by scientists of Purdue University and Northwestern University concluded that ”al-Qaeda crashed United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 11 into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon. The impact and resulting fires caused the collapse of the Twin Towers and the destruction and damage of other buildings in the World Trade Center complex. The Pentagon was severely damaged by the impact of the airliner and the resulting fire. The hijackers also crashed a fourth plane into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after the passengers and flight crew attempted to regain control of the aircraft.”

@Tbag, do you also doubt the Holocaust and global warming?

” Who do you think was responsible for 9/11? ”

The evidence is clear and overwhelming and not malleable by my thinking.

” Was it Al-Qaeda? ”

That is where the evidence leads.

” I believe that 9/11 was a devastating day and I think, from my humble opinion, that it was an inside job. ”

Humble or not opinions do not matter to the evidence.

“An inside job?” Inside what? Where is the evidence for that?

The people who hijacked the planes were members of an Al Queda cell. It was a plot by Al Queda. Period. The end.

I think terrorists definitely played the major role in the attack but I also think the U.S. government knows things, however innocuous or damaging the content, that they will never tell the public.

I put 9/11 truthers in the same cesspool hole as Holocaust deniers.

Coloma's avatar

I did it! Those planes were actually my secret bio-atomic robot geese.

If your opinion isn’t based on any facts you are quite right to be humble about it.

FutureMemory's avatar

Inside job? There’s no evidence supporting such an assertion. Unless you were directly involved, you know nothing about it.

Next question?

Coloma's avatar

And…@FutureMemory deftly drops the final blow to the 9–11 horse. lol

This time I speak my mind – Opinions that ignore the facts are worthless.

All the evidence points to fanatical, militant Islamists.

I just love how whenever someone is about to speak a boldfaced lie, they make SURE to mention that their opinion is “humble”.

I think it was Al Quida but I still wonder why they let the Bin Laden family fly out when all the planes were grounded.

@Judi “I still wonder why they let the Bin Laden family fly out when all the planes were grounded.”

Members of the Bin Laden family had denounced Osama and weren’t enemies of the U.S. If they’d stayed in the U.S., they might have been beaten, lynched, or suffered something else horrific and unspeakable. I’m as anti-W as anyone could have be, and I’d never agreed with anything that he’d said or done; this time, I supported his decision.

Ok, wow. “Inside job”?

I think it was terrorists like all normal people believe.

But I also think the Bush/Cheney team weren’t all that concerned (probably thrilled) since it gave justification for Iraq in their shitty little corrupt minds.

tom_g's avatar

^ This. Just because Bush exploited the situation doesn’t mean he was involved. Some people can’t make that distinction.

I do question what happened to the plane in PA.
Norman Minetta, Secretary of Transportation at the time, gave an interesting testimony regarding Dick Cheneys orders to shoot down a plane.

Osama. I still wonder how it was so easy though.

Porsche did it. I think they do a new one every year.

Al Qaeda. However the failures of the US intelligence community were really quite incredible. I personally think these failures were a result of incompetence rather than complicity, and the horrors of legislation and unjustified wars of aggression are the result of US opportunism rather than a planned stratagem.

As a point of interest, it is also unfortunate that the 11 September attacks occurred just before Kissinger was to be tried for his crimes.

Squirrels. They want to kill us all and steal our nuts!

YARNLADY's avatar

@jerv I don’t have any nuts

jerv's avatar

@YARNLADY You know that, I know that, but squirrels… well, they’re not so bright.

YARNLADY's avatar

@jerv Surprisingly enough, I have a lot of squirrels. They know where the nuts are hidden.

I believe they are also after the cat food that our neighbors leave out for the feral cats and the skunks.
