What's going on with this question of mine?

Asked by Mimishu1995 (23626points) November 21st, 2013

Yesterday I asked this question (that’s right, I’m the author of it). But after a while I noticed something strange: the question was not added to my “Activity for you” section, and there was no announcement about new answers for my question like usual. I went back to the question to check, clicked “Follow question”, and went to the “Activity for you” again. Imagine what I saw: my question wasn’t marked as ”you asked” like the other questions I used to ask! Yes, it looked as if this question was written by another person and not me! Is this some kind of glitch? Can anyone tell me what’s going on?

P.S: I edited my question a little a few minutes after posting it.

When I click on the question, you are marked as the asker. Does it still not appear the same way for you? It is possible to unfollow your own question, which could explain why it didn’t appear in your “Activity for You” section. But if you don’t see your name and avatar on the question, then there might be some sort of account specific problem. One thing to try is logging out and reloading the question. If it appears correctly, then log in again and see if the problem has been resolved. If not, then it’s probably something we’ll need Ben or Andrew for.

I logged out and checked, I was still marked as the asker. I logged in again and went to the “Activity for you” section, nothing new happened. My question still remained unmarked :(

Did you accidentally hit stop following this question?

^ I did yesterday. And today I followed it again. This was when I discovered this problem

So is the only thing that’s missing the “you asked” marker? Do you see your name listed as the asker when you click on the question itself?

If you go to your profile page, see where it says “Greatest Questions”, next to it there is a link that says “See all”. This gives you a list of all the questions you have asked. I see the question in your list, second one down just below this one.

Does that list look the same for you, or is the question missing?

If you stop following your own question and then start following it again, the “You Asked” doesn’t show up. It’s not a glitch, just one of those Fluther things. I just tested it out on my most recent question.

@livelaughlove21 Thanks for that, I was not aware that was happening. It sounds like a bug, but unfortunately as the site is no longer in development it’s not likely to be fixed. It’s just something we’ll have to learn to live with.
