Well, I don’t really know…depends on who’s doing the scrutinizing. Generally speaking, if the person isn’t my mother, I do not mind being held accountable for what I say and do. People should be so accountable.

The way to not get exhausted is to be honest, open, loving and kind in all your actions. Be accountable and live in peace by being peaceful. If one does one’s best, and are open and aboveboard, there is nothing mentally or emotionally tiring about it.

I am having trouble understanding this question, because most people are not living under a microscope.

Aren’t we all held accountable for what we say and do? I don’t think of it as a blessing or a curse, it’s just the way it is. And I definitely agree with @zenvelo.

Great question. Great topic.

Invigorating to be held accountable, and forgivable.

No. I welcome the scrutiny. What I do suits me, and if it doesn’t suit someone else they’re free to go elsewhere.

Live and let live.

No, my actions, my responsibility.

I believe it would only be exhausting if you were not honest or knowledgable in the things you say and do. However, it is invigorating when you’re able to realize your faults or inconsistencies through outside, well-meaning scrutiny. Although being scrutinized can be threatening at times, it is nice to have the choice whether to walk away or accept it.

Who else is going to be held accountable for what I say and do?

Good point, @josie!

Harvey?

No more than breathing exhausts me. It’s a part of being human.

And besides, not many people pay attention to what I say anyway. So yeah, it would be a blessing if I were scrutinized closely.

I don’t mind, I mean what I say and will stand by it.

I’ve noticed that when other people say things, they don’t always like to be reminded of it though. Especially backbiting, no one here or in RL like to be called out for being nasty about other people.
