Can you help me with an Android phone quirk?

Asked by Hawaii_Jake (37345points) December 16th, 2013

I have a Samsung Galaxy S III Android smart phone. A few days ago, there was an automatic upgrade from Android OS 4.2 to 4.3.

Since the upgrade, my phone has been downloading six photos that I took seven months ago at least twice each day. It has also been downloading a document in .pdf format that I sent to my phone last year. It’s doing this twice every day.

I tried simply clearing the notifications of the downloads, and it will download them again later in the day. I tried clicking each new download and saving the pictures again. It still downloads them again later in the day.

It’s only an annoyance. The phone works perfectly otherwise.

Do you know how I can get it to stop these repetitious downloads?

In the Applications folder there is an app called “Download”. Click on it and click the “Clear list” button at the bottom of the screen. This usually fixes the problem.

@Smitha Thank you. I just cleared the list. Now, I will wait to see if it downloads them again in a few hours.

This is exactly why I like Fluther. It is like having access to a whole ‘nuther section of brain. The mind of the collective is greater than the sum of its parts.

The very good news is that my phone has gone 24 hours without downloading those pictures repeatedly and that document, too. @Smitha, I thank you very much for your simple and correct answer. It helped.
