If you were selected as a member of the first ship of colonists to Mars, what would be the first thing you would do when you landed?

Touch the ground with my hands. To officially say that I touched Mars. I’d do that even before going to the bathroom. There probably won’t even be a bathroom anyway if I’m on the first ship.

Just take a few minutes and take in the surrounding landscape.

Honestly? I ‘d want to nope the fuck out of there. The first colonists to the Americas went through all kinds of hardships before they figured out how to live here, and so many of them died. They were just going to another continent. Imagine going to another planet, and all the unexpected things that could come up in a hostile and barren environment.

It’s very doubtful that I’ll ever be taken to Mars against my will. Space travel is so expensive and I don’t have any skills that would make me a viable space colonist. I wouldn’t mind finding a sexy space janitor, though.

Probably try to be the first guy to get laid on another planet. Then “boldly go where no man has gone before” ..to the bathroom.

Seriously: Hugs cheers, high fives and staring out over the horizon, champagne.

Claim 100 square miles for my home, and set up a trading post.

Go for a walk.

Maybe fall over because it would be the first time in a while that I’d have experienced any gravity.

Start looking for all the men.

Write my name in the sand, and put my foot prints next to them.

Set up the first McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme franchise – assuming the Martians hadn’t already beaten me to it.
