Macbook pro airport connection timeout...

Asked by zarnold (708points) June 28th, 2008

OK, so the research I’ve done on this problem indicates that it’s pretty widespread and that there’s no general solution, so I guess I’m really just looking for some suggestions. I have a 3rd gen macbook pro with OS X 10.5. When I try to connect to my Westell versalink 327w router at home, I always get a connection timeout.

Two weird things about this problem: when I was home last winter, I had no troubles whatsoever using the same exact setup (leopard too), so this leads me to believe that it might be caused by an update. Also, everything works fine when I boot windows via boot camp. If anyone knows for a fix (even if it’s complicated), I’d really appreciate it. Thanks

have you tried restarting your router.

If so, go to your network prefrences and tell us what your settings are.
ie: are you using DHCP or a manual ip address.

all right, cool – I’ll do it as soon as I get back home
