Is it a bad omen to find a dead cardinal in your yard?

Asked by skinnylittleblonde (7points) January 27th, 2014

I have Cardinals are supposed to be a good sign, or more specifically a sign from the a loved one that has passed…but a dead one in the yard? :0

Welcome to Fluther.

It’s not a bad omen if you’re a Cubs fan, I guess.

No.

However, it is a bad omen if you are working in a mine, huffing gas in a small, poorly ventilated area, or being framed for a spree of serial cardinal killings.

Did you think they were immortal?

I found a full sized dead owl on my lawn a couple months back.

I am still trying to figure out if that was an omen.

It is simply a dead bird, there are no such things as omens, only in backwoods mythology.
@Blondesjon LMAO!

It’s bad luck only for the cardinal. They all die eventually, you know.
