Could it be Georgia O’Keefe?

Cruiser's avatar

Not sure but I found an eeelizabeth posted it online before.

@Adirondackwannabe No – it’s far too insipid for Georgia O’Keefe. I Googled it but didn’t come up with anything; it doesn’t look reminiscent of anyone famous.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@janbb I’d tend to agree but maybe she was experimenting? It probably is no one of note.

I also think it was not O’Keefe.

shego's avatar

It is too dark, and it’s not in the O’Keefe style. The painting is pretty, but I do not think it belongs to anybody who is major in the art world.

I’m also dragging it into Google Images for the search.. I’m getting a lot of Tumblr hits but it’s hard to sift through…

MadMadMax's avatar

It’s not any known artist is my opinion. It might be Chinese factory painting.

I can usually recognize a production painting and I’m very good at recognizing and identifying the masters up through the late 19th and early 20th century.

pleiades's avatar

@MadMadMax where did you get the Painters name?

MadMadMax's avatar

You download the image and save it to a file.

You go to Google Images and use the little camera icon and upload that file

If there are other images on galleries or in people’s web pages, in anything, google will typically locate it, but then you have sift thru’ and sometimes use your noodle to pull out the info.

This last one was comparatively easy.

MadMadMax's avatar

@pleiades I hope that was clear enough to answer your question.

pleiades's avatar

Yes thank you. As mentioned before @MadMadMax I already did that. “I’m also dragging it into Google Images for the search..” That was my first response to the thread.

Also, do you have the link to the discovery of the painters name? Because I still don’t see it. The link you posted to is to the Tumblr I described in the OP. Sometimes we just have to use our noodle and re-read the info that has already been answered ;) and answer to my question is definitely not on that Tumblr page.

That is just some anonymous person re-blogging the image.

Don’t meant to sound aggressive, just a former frustrated journalist at this point in my investigative career!

@pleiades For god sake, I gave you the guy’s name in Chinese; what else do you want. Take his name and go to Google China and see what else you can find if you are interested in this artist – I don’t particularly think the painting is all that good and certainly not unique in any way.

@MadMadMax I did search his name on Google. I’m still not seeing the painting! All I’m seeing are links to the Chinese film “Flowers in Fog” “Flowers & Mists.”

I’m only asking you for the link and source because it’ll back up your claim that he is the artist which I don’t believe he is… That’s all I’m saying not trying to fight you or anything on this thread.

Sometimes a picture just decorative and no artist is actually noted.

I don’t have time to try to find any more but this type of work is usually produced by productin artists in China and sold in Furniture stores to match the sofas or in convention centers where they sell “art”

@MadMadMax That was my intuitive assessment of it as well.

MadMadMax's avatar

@janbb Yeah. It was my first response to the image. It screamed production art.
