Can I rollover a Keogh to an IRA?

Asked by jqwilson (5points) June 30th, 2008

I have a Keogh pension plan.. about $175,000. I want to roll this over into a traditional IRA account. Can I do this and what are the tax considerations…if any?

Wow! I thought this question was something else entirely…...guess it’s not an Irish question!

Consult your independent financial advisor.

That does not help.

Why not, they are much more likely to give you an accurate response for your particular set of circumstances than a random group of people on the Internet. Personally I think you should cash it in and try to spend us out of the recession.

I haven’t yet put that much away.
I’m working on it.
