Asked by ultrafagatron (5points) July 11th, 2007

Looking for any recommended spots to stay, whether it be a cabin in the woods or an inn by the water, we're open.

try rentals or timeshares if the prices are high try searching around... I personally use visitcalifornia.com and subscribe to budget travel

depending on when and how long your stay, you could check craigslist.org. there are a LOT of santa cruz postings right now, as it's summer time.

We love Seascape resort in Aptos (a few miles south of Santa Cruz). Also lots of rentals in Capitola (not sure how much). I can't remember one name of a hotel or motel near Santa Cruz Wharf near the Seals Rock. I heard that is nice too and walking distance to the wharf. If you want great breakfast, we love Zachary's in downtown (Pacific Avenue) a nice place to stroll around and try the chocolate mocha at Chocolat also on Pacific Avenue. Enjoy! For dinner, Shadowbrook is great! (its in the city of Capitola or Soquel?)
