What's the deal? When I try to change my avatar I get kicked out of Fluther and onto a screen that says the page reset?

Can you describe the exact steps you take to cause the bug?

1) I click on my avatar
2) choose the option to change it
3) go to browse
4) get kicked out.
5) do it again
4) get kicked out again
7) post a question.
8) talk to PhiNotPi

I had no problem changing mine. I uploaded from my PC and prest-o, chang-o.

I haven’t been able to replicate the bug. I’ve been able to upload a new image from my computer and change my avatar.

In the past, I’ve heard of several strange avatar bugs. All of them were on an individual basis and affected single users. I think we ended up asking Ben to fix it.

I have one idea, which may solve the problem. I could go into the database and remove all of your avatars, so that you can upload from scratch. Hopefully, if the bug is related to the system by which Fluther stores avatars, then this would erase whatever is causing the problem. I don’t know if it will work, but I don’t know of anything else except asking for “professional help.” It’s up to you if you want to try it.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that it was a scan? Should have mentioned that above…sorry. KNOWITALL suggested I copy the pic onto my desktop and I WAS able to upload it from there. Strange.

Okay, so does that solve it?

<———- Apparently. Look. I aged 30 years about an hour ago!

Maybe you need to turn the other face cheek!
