Depends on the situation
Getting some back
No! I love it.
Meh, not really. It’s pretty easy now.

Yup, spent some and the rest went into a savings account.

Yes. Twice.

Had to fill out an “injured spouse” form, because apparently Hubby has had some false income reported against him from before we got married.

Protip: Never go into business with a church-going man.

Should be getting most of my refund back, but gods know how long that’s going to take.

I’ve been getting emails from the CPA all week. I will owe but as an old CPA once said, “I hope you have a tax problem. It means you’re making money. ”

H&R Blockheads every year. I have zero interest in doing my own.

I have always done them myself by hand since 1984, and with TaxACT.com since 1999, as I have yet to own a home so I have had no need to itemize. This year it’s a bit more complicated – I withdrew money to purchase a house, but the property could not be sold because the HOA does not meet FHA/Freddie Mac criteria – so I may have to pay penalties on the withdrawal. However, we don’t know who to go to and now it’s pretty much too late to try to find someone. I’m thinking I may submit myself then consult an Accountant if my attempt is not effective.

Yes! Sent my payment for $79 on Feb! 28.

I have a great accountant, and we always get my taxes done by mid0-March. It’s been my habit for years. This was my earliest (and ironically, most complicated) filing in years.

I dropped off my K-1’s and W-2’s and 1099’s to my accountant just 12 hours ago. I am jumping for joy to await the news at how large of a check I will have to write to the Feds.

Yes
E-file
Small return (I tend to get my withholding almost right without overpaying terribly much)
No
Hard to say since my own taxes are simple; rarely even a 1099.
Fair would be a progressive effective rate, not a bell-curve.

Have you done them? (just handed all the document into my accountant last Thursday. Today I am transferring funds to my IRA)
Do you do them or do you get them done for you? (getting it done for me)
Long form or short? (long)
Are you paying more or getting some of your cash back? (paying)
Do you go into a funk about this time of year because of them? (no)
Do you think that it could be made easier? (yes)
What would make it easier? (a flat tax)
Would easier equal fairer? (I think so)
What is fairer? (almost everyone pays an equal percentage without having to worry about loopholes and write-offs)
Would you like to guess what I get to do this weekend? (Taxes)

DOne about a month ago via accountant. Got some back from Feds, owed State minimal amount.

Did’ em….got my refund already.
Do my own with the help of TurboTax
Very long – about 40 pages
Even though I know I’m getting money back, it’s still depressing
Yes, it could be made much easier, but that would put a lot of government employees out of a job
Flat 15% tax or national sales tax
Yep
Everyone pays the same – even the people making millions each year – no write-offs and shelters
Have fun and good luck!!

Have you done them? Yes
Do you do them or do you get them done for you? We get them done. Far less stressful.
Long form or short? Long, and a couple of those extra forms.
Are you paying more or getting some of your cash back? Paying, which I prefer.
Do you go into a funk about this time of year because of them? No
Do you think that it could be made easier? Yes
What would make it easier? Heck if I know.
Would easier equal fairer? Not necessarily
What is fairer? I don’t know enough about the subject to speak intelligently about what is fair.
Would you like to guess what I get to do this weekend? Ummm, doing your taxes?
