Vapors are feeling faint I believe. Some people with low blood sugar get them I believe.

Vapors? You mean like fumes and stuff? I got totally stoned from primer before. My dad got a job for painting a house, and I went with him to help, but he never told me not to use primer in enclosed areas. I was painting the inside of a closet then all of a sudden I realized, whoa…it feels exactly like smoking marijuana, pretty much identical.
My dad thought it was funny, but I’m like, dude, you could have warned me dag nerbitt. That was it for that day, anyways. Painting is not my forté haha.

But it makes me think, people who huff paint or glue on a regular basis, that must kill your brain cells so bad. Happened to me just the one time, and that was the vapors, I didn’t have my face in there or anything…and NOW lookit me braindead self.

Confused as to what sort of vapor affliction you’re talking about… are you speaking of the antiquated term used to describe hysteria, depression, bipolar disorder, fainting, withdrawal syndrome, mood swings and/or PMS as well as others?

When I hear “the vapours” (always with the preceding “the”), I think of handkerchiefs and fainting couches. Not a real malady.

Today ti’s called Syncope(medicine). It’s very real, can be dangerous, and the cause of many head injuries and broken hips among the aged. Medical historians speculate that what was known as “the vapors” back in the day, was actually caused by constriction of blood flow to the brain and pressure on vital organs due to the clothing women wore, especially tight, whale-bone corsets used to reduce the female wasteline to under eighteen unches regardles of age, weight, or body type as this was the fashion. Any rise in blood pressure would cause further constriction and the female could lose consieousness, or faint until she was horizontal for a time. It was, no doubt, also faked as an attention-getting device, but that is another subject entirely.

Oops. Forgot to answer the question. No, but my fainting couch is always ready to accommodate any delicate flower of southern womanhood or Gibson Girl who chances by, said the spider to the fly.
