What are some options for paying (off) school loans?

Asked by JonnyCeltics (2721points) July 2nd, 2008

AmeriCorps has a program, and I know that entering military service provides options as well. And of course, there are simply your monthly payments. But is there anything else out there?

You could ask your parents to pay for it and then they wouldn’t charge you interest.

Wow , this may not be the answer you were looking for but… do the research. There are way more options now than when I went through school. National Health Service has some kind of plan if you have med school loans. Consolidate if you have multiples. I think Obama has some kind of proposal on the table for loan forgiveness. Just keep them current. Student loan defaults and IRS arrearages fall into about the same category.

Other than consolidation…I am looking for programs that match or help out based upon your involvement or employment, etc.
