On Amazon, when an item is sold by another seller and "Fulfilled by Amazon," what exactly does that mean?

Is the item shipped by Amazon? I want to make sure it’s not coming in shoddy condition, due to being from someplace else.

Item shipped by Amazon.

Although I have to say… I pack the items I sell to others better than Amazon packs the items they sell to me. :)
