Is there a way to delete stock ringtones and texts sounds on a Samsung Galaxy S3?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) June 15th, 2014

The ones that are already installed on the phone?

I looked in media and then ringtones but none of them are showing up, which I take that to mean they can’t be deleted. But the ones I have added DO show up.
Is this at all possible? Thanks.

My best guess is they are burned permanently into the core operating system. You would have to ‘jailbreak’ the phone to remove tones and features that came with the phone. Unfortunately, that would probably void your warranty.

iPhones are jailbroken.

Andriod devices are rooted.

Hmmm…guess I’ll just have to live with it, then. Thanks.

Welp. you know what kind of phone I usually have. lol.
The good thing about having these features locked away is that if something happens, you can wipe the phone and start all over and still have functionality from the start.
