Hmm good question..
1) Ziggy Stardust
2) Starman

Life on Mars? No doubt about it.
Incidentally, it’s not subjective, I am right. All other answers are the wrong ones.

I’ve always had a special fondness for Heroes but I couldn’t tell you why.

Life on Mars. There is no other answer.

AstroChuck's avatar

Ah. You are very wise, lefteh. But the song is called Life on Mars?.

joeysefika's avatar

I think it all depends on what mood your in. Life on Mars is amazing and is a very powerful song. But a song like Ziggy Stardust reflects Bowie’s personality and song writing style because of the unusual lyrics and wild imagery.

AstroChuck's avatar

Sorry, Joey. But lefteh has given the correct answer. ‘Nuff sed.

Well fair enough

My favorite is Under Pressure. But I am not sure if that is a David Bowie song featuring Freddy Mercury, or if it is a Freddy Mercury song featuring David Bowie.

eambos's avatar

@tinyfaery. It’s technically a Queen song featuring David Bowie.

Ziggy Stardust is pretty kick ass!

programin's avatar

Eambos is right about that.

Ok. Then The Man Who Sold The World.

I also really enjoyed ‘Nature Boy’ which he did with Massive Attack for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Its a cover of a 40s song but between Bowie and MA…it was hypnotic.

Some will probably hate me for this-but for its time and place I think “China Girl” ranks high on my list (can’t help it-I’m a product of the 80s); the other songs listed are awesome though…

bunkin's avatar

I totally agree!

El_Cadejo's avatar

Wait, whats wrong with China Girl? Definitely should have been on my list as well.

Repo_the_Genetic_Opera's avatar

Either Underground (which was on the Labyrinth soundtrack), Life on Mars?, Heroes, or Let’s Dance.

Just go watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl-lbhMrGds&feature=related
put on earplugs if you haven’t got a surround sound system, press full screen, turn up the volume and just sit back. I literally couldn’t move after listening to this song. It is heartbreakingly beautiful. And his best song EVER
