Does anyone know how to fix my e-mail problem?

Asked by antimatter (4424points) June 29th, 2014

I purchased a new laptop preloaded with windows 8. I installed my old copy of office 2007 that worked without a problem until I was promoted to upgrade to windows 8.1. After upgrading to 8.1 my problems started with my Outlook 2007. When opening it shows me this message. “There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.”

Uninstall Office and reinstall. Should fix the problem. Make sure everything you need is saved before you do this.

Do you get this message when you open it using the Outlook icon, or do you only get it when you click a “mail to” link in your browser or another program? Your Outlook may be fine, but perhaps it is no longer the email client associated with these oher programs. If so, you might be able to repair that association.
